BCCI got official permission from the government to organize the IPL in UAE

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and IPL authorities have finalized all plans to host the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in the United Arab Emirates from September 19. However, the BCCI and IPL authorities were waiting for the final permission of the government.

Eventually, that permission also matched. IPL chairman Brijesh Patel has confirmed that he has received official permission from the government to host the IPL in the desert.

According to the decision of the IPL Governing Council, the IPL, which is almost six months behind due to corona, will start from September 19. This year’s IPL will be screened on November 10. There will be 56 IPL matches in three venues in the desert city – Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah.

“We have received written clearances from the home ministry and the foreign ministry,” Patel told PTI. The Emirates Cricket Board has been asked to start preparations since receiving verbal confirmation last week. Now, after getting the written clearance, the franchisees and others have been informed. ‘

This will be the third time the IPL will be held outside the country. The IPL was held in South Africa in 2009 and in the UAE in 2014 for the national elections.

Chinese mobile company Vivo Company was the sponsor of the IPL. The IPL authorities are looking for a new sponsor after terminating their contract.
