Renowned Bangladeshi businessman Abdul Monem dies

Renowned Bangladeshi businessman Abdul Monem dies today at CMH Hospital in Dhaka in the morning. He was 85 years old at the time of his death.

He suffered a brain stroke on 17th May and since then he was under treatment at CMH Hospital. He was the founder of Abdul Monem Limited (AML), which is a leading diversified business conglomerate of Bangladesh. He established the company in 1956. Before that, he was a civil engineer by profession.

Monem left behind his wife, two sons, three daughters, and a host of relatives and admirers to mourn his death.

For his achievement, he was awarded ‘Commercially Important Person (CIP)’ by Bangladesh Government many times. He is the pioneer and tycoon of many industries in Bangladesh namely construction, food, beverage, energy, pharmaceuticals, and many more.

His Namaz e Janajah will be held in his hometown in Brahmanbaria and he will be buried there after the Janajah.

Almost all the highways of the country including the Padma Bridge link road are made by his organization AML. Famous brands like Igloo, Coca-Cola, Novas Pharmaceuticals Limited is their sister concern organization in Bangladesh.
