Korean disinfectant to be sprayed at all Bangladeshi prisons

In order to prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) in the Bangladesh Prison system, Authorities have taken the decision to use the Korean disinfectant ‘Virus Zero’. Which will be sprayed at all the prisons in the country.

To ensure the health and safety of the prisoners, all Deputy Inspector General (DIGs) and prison officials of the Department of Prisons have been instructed to use the newly introduced Korean disinfectant medicine, said Additional Inspector General of the Department of Prisons Colonel Abrar Hossain.

On Thursday, Korean disinfectant ‘Virus Zero’ was sent to all the prisons in the country, Abrar Hossain added.

In Bangladesh, there is 68 prison, among them 55 district prisons and 13 central prisons. Which has an Official capacity of 40,944 people. According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, There are around 88,084 prisoners are in these prisons. Which is almost twice the number of the total capacity for these prisons? And in this congested situation spreading COVID-19 and creating huge chaos is very likely in this situation.
