Miroslav Klose joins Bayern Munich as assistant coach

German superstar sportsman Miroslav Klose, who holds the record for the most goals scored at men’s World Cups, has joined the FC Bayern Munich as an assistant coach.

“It feels very good, I’m really looking forward to the job,” said the 41-year-old former German striker, who scored 16 goals at four World Cups and won the 2014 World Cup with Germany.

Klose is going to be on Bayern Side bench when the Bundesliga starts again in nine days after having been suspended since mid-March due to the coronavirus pandemic, with Bayern traveling to Union Berlin on Sunday, May 17.

The former Bayern striker says joining his previous club is “the next step” in his coaching profession. Klose is working with FC Bayern Munich’s Under-17 team for the last two seasons.

Klose confirmed his deal the club until June 2021 which reunites him with Bayern head coach Hansi Flick who was Germany’s assistant coach at the 2014 World Cup.
