Bangladesh to bring back its stranded citizens from the United States

Bangladesh has taken an initiative to bring back its stranded citizens, who have been left alone in the USA due to flight cancelation because of COVID-19 pandemic, by a chartered aircraft between May 14 or 15.

Embassy of Bangladesh located in Washington DC in coordination with the Consulates in New York and Los Angeles will expedite the return of stranded Bangladeshi by a Qatar Airways chartered flight, reports BSS.

According to the press release the Bangladesh mission will arrange the chartered flight either from Washington or New York Airport to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA).

The fare of each economy class ticket for this flight would be approximately US$2,200.

All Stranded Bangladeshi citizens staying in the USA who want to avail of this special flight at their own accounts can contact Oryx Aviation Ltd through the website, and register their names for tickets to confirm seats in this flight by 08 May 2020.

The press release also confirmed, before boarding in the flight, all passengers need to show “COVID-19 negative certificate obtained from any US hospital/doctor/medical professional within 72 (seventy-two) hours of the flight departure.

Upon arrival at the airport in Dhaka, every traveler will have to go through a mandatory medical test and they will be sent either to “institutional quarantine centers” or “home quarantine” as per the health guidelines of the government.
