Bangladesh Govt lifts restriction on offering prayers at mosques

After one month of restrictions because of COVID-19 Pandemic, Bangladesh’s government has determined to allow people to offer prayers, including Tarabi, at mosques from Thursday’s Zohr prayers subject to following health guidelines, The Ministry of Religious Affairs issued a gazette.

According to the published gazette, People will be allowed to offer prayers in jamaat at mosques by fulfilling the some particular conditions.

According to the government instructions, Any kind of Carpet use on mosques floors will not be allowed and mosques authorities will have to clean the mosques with disinfectants before every prayer.

Besides that, everyone will have to carry their own prayer mats and they will have to do Sunnat prayers at their own places. All devotees must maintain a 3-foot distance while offering prayers.

Along with that devotees have to enter mosques wearing face masks and every mosque must need to have places and equipment of handwashing with soap/hand sanitizers at the mosque’s entrances.

Additionally Sick, elderly people and children will not be allowed to come to mosques.
