Labor counsellor at Bangladesh’s embassy in Jeddah tests positive for COVID-19

A Bangladeshi representative in Saudi Arabia consulate has tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

As indicated by the announcement, the labor counselor at Bangladesh’s strategic Jeddah got COVID-19.

This is the first COVID-19 case at any Bangladeshi mission overseas, Md. Tohidul Islam, a senior data official at the Foreign Ministry affirmed.

In the meantime, Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen asked all staff members at Bangladeshi missions abroad to perform obligations with the most extreme alert.

The announcement included that the contaminated authority went to Medina a week ago with the nation’s administration authorities to persuade 4,000 Bangladeshis to have coronavirus test.

Right now, about 4 million Bangladeshi laborers have been occupied with different projects primarily at building locales in Arab nations – including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and the UAE.

At times, the laborers, particularly the individuals who are undocumented, apparently attempt to evade coronavirus test dreading potential entanglements at employments.
