Vowing to stop making discrimination against women, International Women’s Day has been observed in Mymensingh, Bangladesh.
On Saturday, this day has been observed in Patgram High School in Mymensingh, in association with SERAC-Bangladesh. Later, they brought out a procession and organized a seminar on the occasion.
In the procession, along with many teenagers and young men and women, Ms. Mushfika Ferdousi, and Habibur Rahman, Assistant teachers of Patgram High School, Ms. Shahina Yasmin, the Program Director of SERAC-Bangladesh, Azizul Haque, Program Associate of SERAC-Bangladesh, Mr. Mizanur Rahman, SERAC-Bangladesh’s divisional coordinator, journalist Noushin Brishti Bably were present.
Speakers emphasized on taking initiative immediately to ensure gender equality by making women involved in creative works.
They further said that, if gender equality is not ensured, then it wouldn’t be possible to achieve SDG by 2030.
They also believe that women should be financially independent which can lead the country towards development.
