Qatar opens visa center in Dhaka

Under the mandate of the Ministry of Interior, State of Qatar, the first Qatar Visa Center (QVC) in Bangladesh was inaugurated on December 11 with a view to bringing in a comprehensive visa service requiring applicants to enroll biometrics data.

His Excellency Mr. Ahmed Mohamed Al-Dehaimi, Ambassador of the State of Qatar in Dhaka and His Excellency Mr. Nurul Islam Bsc, Honorable Minister, Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employments, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh inaugurated the Qatar Visa Center amid presence of Senior Government Officials, Head of Diplomatic Missions and other dignitaries.

“The State of Qatar has become one of the favorite destinations of Bangladeshi Work Forces; as the laws in Qatar are set to assure all necessary comforts, facilities and securities for the expatriates. Opening Qatar visa centers in Bangladesh shall be a big step forward in this regard as it will provide all visa related services with first class medical examinations facility and other travel assistances without any cost for all visitors wishing to travel to the State of Qatar. These visa centers will reduce the sufferings of the visitors and ensure transparency in visa procedures, and that is in line with the Qatar’s Vision – 2030.”, said His Excellency Mr. Ahmed Mohamed Al-Dehaimi, Ambassador of the State of Qatar in Dhaka.

The State of Qatar, inhabited by nearly 350,000 Bangladeshis mostly workers, has established the Visa Center making it obligatory for workers to sign work contracts and undergo medical test at Qatar Visa Center.

As thousands of workers fly to Qatar every year, the visa service has been introduced to make their immigration more rewarding and systematic, said Qatar officials.

Located conveniently at the 11th Floor of Rupayan Trade Center at 114, Kazi Nazrul Islam Avenue, of Bangla motor, Dhaka, the visa center is equipped with state-of-the-art biometric enrollment & medical test facility. The visa center is designed in line with international standards ensuring greater transparency, traceability and increased security for the visa applicants. The center operates between 8:30 am to 4:30 pm from Sunday to Thursday.

The Center’s medical test service is provided by Stemz Health care, a visa-related medical services company. Some of the key medical tests to be conducted at the center include blood tests, x-ray, visual assessments, and physical examinations. The operations are backed by a team of highly qualified healthcare professionals with internal systems and processes based on the latest medical standards and best practices.

Qatar Visa Center maintains robust multi-lingual information services for the benefit of visa applicants across multiple touch points. Information on appointment scheduling, requirements and steps at the visa center can be found in English, Bangla and Arabic through a dedicated website, call center helpline, email and walk-in at the reception.

The Qatar Visa Center is operated by SQ Services Ltd., a partner of Biomet Services Pte. Headquartered in Singapore, Biomet Services is a visa processing and biometric enrollment solutions company providing administrative outsourcing services to client governments. Under the agreement with Ministry of Interior, the State of Qatar, the company is also mandated to open Qatar Visa Centers in Indonesia, Philippines, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Tunisia in addition to Bangladesh.
