UN envoy Martin Griffiths arrived in the rebel-held Yemeni capital on Wednesday for crunch talks on averting all-out fighting for the lifeline port of Hodeida and widespread famine.
Griffiths did not comment to waiting reporters on his arrival at Sanaa International Airport, an AFP photographer reported.
The envoy — whose last effort to kickstart peace talks collapsed acrimoniously in Switzerland in September — is trying to get the Huthi Shiite rebels and the Saudi-backed government back to the negotiating table in Sweden by the end of the year.
