The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) today announced a 15-member squad for the first T20I against visiting Sri Lanka.
The new T20I skipper Shakib Al Hasan is back after recovering from injury and opener Soumya Sarkar has also been included in the squad.
The new faces in the squad are Afif Hossain, Ariful Haque, Zakir Hasan, Mahidy Hasan and Abu Jayed Rahi.
All these players have been rewarded for their impressive performance in the fifth edition of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
Young star Afif had a tournament to remember in the Under-19, 2018 World Cup where he delivered some amazing all-round performances throughout the tournament.
He has scored 276 runs including four half centuries with an average of 46. He also picked up nine wickets with the ball including a five-wicket haul.
The first T20I between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will be held on February 15 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.
