The gala event of the first ever ‘Clash Royale Grameenphone Championship’, has been held on April 2, 2017, at GPHouse in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The tournament commenced on February 23, 2017.
12 participants competed for the championship at the event, at GP House, and Mohammad Arman Jubayed Khan become the Champion while Istiaque Rahman became the 1st runner up and Redwan Sahir Ayon became then 2nd runner-up in the Clash Royale Grameenphone Championship 2017.
Registration for the month-long tournament began in February 2017. From the near-9,000 registrants, the first 5,000 played for the first round, which was held from March 13 to March 19. Surviving a tough competition, 100 gamers qualified for the second round, held on March 23, where 50 participants were selected for the third and penultimate round held on March 27. Out of them, 12 best gamers fought it out to qualify for the gala event. The tournament modality was as per the Gaming modality and rules of Clash Royale game.
Top three winners of the tournament at the event received in-game gems from Clash Royale. The champion got 2,500 gems, while the first and second runner-ups received 2,000 and 1,500 gems respectively.
“The tournament has been a resounding success because of spontaneous response we have received. The participants have displayed exceptional skill and mastery throughout the tournament, and the winners have emerged to be truly world-class, capable of competing in the global arena”, said Grameenphone’s Chief Marketing Officer Yasir Azman at GPHouse during the tournament.
During the month tournament, all participants enjoyed special data offer for Clash Royale (conditions apply). Clash Royale is a multiplayer game from Supercell, makers of Clash of Clans – a game that quickly became a global phenomenon. The game was released globally in 2016, and won Google Play Store’s ‘Best Game of the Year’.
