Huawei showcases innovation at ITU Telecom World 2016

As the ITU Telecom World 2016 is taking place in Bangkok, the world awaits eagerly to see what innovations are coming in communication technologies.  About 4,000 government officials, company executives, and industry leaders from more than 100 countries are visiting ITU Telecom World which aims to foster global development through ICT innovations with the slogan “Better Sooner, Accelerating ICT Innovation to Improve Lives Faster”.

Along with other leaders in communications technology, world’s leading ICT solutions provider Huawei is participating in the exhibition with the theme “Enabler of the Digital Economy, Building a Better Connected World” to showcase some of its latest ideas and experiences in cloud, national broadband networks, ultra-fast wireless communications, and smart devices.

A delegation from Bangladesh, led by Tarana Halim, State Minister for Telecommunications, along with high officials of the BTRC Division visited Telecom World 2016. Huawei’s exhibition was also visited by Thai Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, and Prime Minister Prayut of Thailand; Houlin Zhao, secretary-general of the ITU; senior government officials and ICT regulators from several countries; and delegations from major Asian telecom carriers.

Huawei is emphasizing on comprehensive ICT regulations and urging countries to build more digital infrastructure to fuel a high quality economic transformation and achieve sustainable growth. The company’s exhibits of government on cloud, industry on cloud, home on cloud, and person on cloud give a clear picture of what the digital society of the future will look like: Ubiquitous sensors, ubiquitous connectivity, and ubiquitous intelligence. There will be significant improvements in security, the quality of government services, education and healthcare, and in our material and cultural lives.

Zou Zhilei, president of Huawei’s Carrier Business Group, said, “Data centers and broadband networks are a vital part of the national information infrastructure. Huawei is committed to building a better-connected world, and we believe that for any developing nation or region seeking ‘leapfrog development’, it is vital to use the levers of policy, coordination on standards, and accelerated infrastructure rollout. Virtual reality (VR) and 5G have been the hot new advances of 2016, and Huawei’s ultrafast VR and 5G wireless solutions attracted a lot of attention at Telecom World. Huawei also presented some high-tech consumer devices, including the P9 smartphone.
