The Inter-district Age Group Women’s Swimming competition began today (Friday) at Dhanmondi Sultana Kamal Women’s Sports Complex.
Bangladesh Awami League Youth and Sports Affaires Secretary Harunur Rashid formally inaugurated the two-day meet as the chief guest, said a Bangladesh Women’s Sports Association’s press (BWSA) release today.
A total of 198 players from 32 districts from across the country, split into age base three groups, are taking part in the competition, organised by BWSA.
The three groups are Group A (8-10 year), group B (11-12 year) and Group C (13-14 year).
The events of the two-day meet are 50m breast stroke, 50mback stroke, 50m free style, 50m butterfly 100m breast stroke, 100m back stroke, 100m free style, 100m butterfly and 200m individual midlay.
The participating district are Bandarban, Munshiganj, Jhenedah, Narayanganj, Meherpur, Bagerhat, Chuadanga, Panchagarh, Rajbari, Narail, Dinajpur, Chapainawabganj, Satkhira, Kushtia, Thakurgaon, Jessore, Madaripur, Sirajganj, Shariatpur, Laxmipur, Joypurhat, Kurigram, Borguna, Noagaon, Pabna, Bogra, Tangail, Dhaka, Kishorganj, Rangpur and Faridpur.
