ISORF welcomes BB’s liberal policy to attract foreign investment

The “International Investment and Digital Finance Fair 2026” in Washington, DC, is being organized by the In Search of Root Foundation (ISORF), which has praised Bangladesh Bank’s (BB) recent liberal policy move to draw in foreign investment.

According to a press release today, BB has made a significant move by loosening rules pertaining to foreign investors’ repatriation of funds in an effort to promote foreign investment and foster a more investment-friendly environment.

According to a new circular, foreign investors will now be able to repatriate up to Taka 100 crore from the sale or transfer of shares without requiring direct approval from the central bank. Authorized banks will be able to process and send the funds abroad under their own procedures.

The ISORF, a US-based non-profit organization, expressed its appreciation and congratulations to the Government of Bangladesh and Bangladesh Bank for this investment-friendly initiative.

The organization believes that such liberal policies will increase the confidence of international investors and encourage new flows of foreign investment into Bangladesh.

ISORF is organizing the “International Investment and Digital Finance Fair 2026”, scheduled to be held on April 17-18 in Washington, DC, USA. Alongside the two-day international fair, several seminars, dialogues, and investment-related discussions will be organized.

The event is expected to be attended by elected representatives of the United States, representatives of the Federal Reserve, members of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee and the House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee, senior officials from the US Department of State, representatives of the Senate Subcommittee on International Operations and Bilateral International Development, officials from the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR), and high-level officials from the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), as well as investors from various countries.

One of the key seminars of the fair will be titled “Strengthening Investment Flows in the US and South Asia: Challenges and Way Forward.” The seminar will focus on investment opportunities, prospects, and challenges in South Asia, including Bangladesh. Encouraging foreign investors to explore and invest in Bangladesh will be a central objective of this session.
