State Minister for Youth and Sports Md Aminul Haque today conveyed his best wishes to Australia-bound Bangladesh women’s football team, a release of the ministry said.
Bangladesh Women’s Football Team left Dhaka to play in the Asian Football Confederation Women’s Asian Cup in Australia from March 1-21.
“Our women’s football team is going to compete on this highest stage in Asia for the first time, marking a golden chapter in the history of Bangladesh’s sports. On this glorious moment, I extend my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all players, coaches and officials,” the state minister said.
Aminul Haque said our girls have repeatedly proven that with indomitable will and hard work, any obstacle can be overcome. Today, they are going to face the best teams in Asia, crossing the borders of South Asia.
This is not only the development of women’s football, but also a unique reflection of the progress of our women’s power in the commitment to building a sports-friendly Bangladesh, he said.
The state minister expressed his firm conviction that the team will uphold the dignity of the red-green flag in Australia saying, “Your fighting spirit, regardless of victory or defeat, will showcase Bangladesh’s identity to the whole world.”
