France hails credible polls, congratulates Tarique Rahman

Today, France commended the Bangladeshi people for the peaceful and open execution of the February 12
parliamentary elections, expressing willingness to cooperate with the incoming administration and applauding the favorable findings of the European Union Observation Mission.

Paris praised the “successful and credible elections which took place orderly and transparently on February 12” in a statement released by the French Embassy in Dhaka.

In addition, the French Embassy congratulated the Bangladesh Nationalist Party and its leader, “Tarique Rahman,” on their victory, as well as all of the elected candidates.

France applauded the favorable evaluation of the European Union Election
Mission of Observation and conveyed gratitude for its work.

“We welcome the European Union Observation Mission’s positive conclusions and thank all its volunteers for their dedication,” the message said.

The embassy reaffirmed France’s commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation with Bangladesh under the newly-elected leadership.

“We look forward to working actively with the new government to develop the longstanding partnership between France and Bangladesh,” it added.
