US withdrawal from WHO makes country, world ‘unsafe’: WHO chief

The head of the globe Health Organization said on Tuesday that the Trump administration’s decision to leave the UN health organization posed a threat to both the US and the rest of the globe.

Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus told reporters that the US departure from the WHO, which is scheduled to go into effect next week, is “a loss for the United States and it’s also a loss for the rest of the world” and that it “makes the US unsafe… and makes the rest of the world unsafe.”
