Inspector General of Bangladesh Police (IGP) Baharul Alam has asked his subordinate colleagues to discharge their duties with utmost sincerity and honesty to make the upcoming national election peaceful and successful.
“National elections are very important for the state, where the police role is very significant. Every police personnel in the field during the election will be the symbol of peoples’ confidence,” he said.
The comment was made by IGP Baharul Alam during an inspection of the sixth batch of police officers undergoing competency and capacity development training for election duty.
In preparation for the next national election, the Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) organized a three-day training course at its POM conference hall today. The program intends to improve police officers’ abilities and capabilities for the efficient performance of election-related tasks.
Deputy Inspector General of Police Dr. Muhammad Shahjahan and RMP Commissioner Muhammad Abu Sufian attended the event.
IGP Baharul Alam underlined that conducting a free, fair, and impartial national election depends on upholding professionalism, integrity, and efficiency at all levels of the police force.
He exhorted every police officer to carry out their duties with integrity, accountability, and deference to the law.
Baharul Alam expressed hope that the training will help uphold law and order and guarantee effective management at voting places by enhancing officers’ operational competence and practical understanding in managing election-related duties.
