The 47th anniversary of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party’s (BNP) establishment was commemorated nationwide with a number of events.
Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman established the party on September 1, 1978, with a 19-point platform aimed at creating an independent Bangladesh.
To commemorate the day in districts, the BNP and its affiliated organizations have organized a number of events, including as rallies and talks.
In Magura, Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) celebrated its 47th founding anniversary today with vibrant programmes.
The parade started at midday from the Magura Sadar Upazila Parishad area and proceeded along Dhaka Road and Vayna Mor. At Paranduali Shaheed Mehedi Hasan Rabbi Square, it came to an end.
Participants carried banners and placards, chanting party slogans along the route.
The event was presided over by District BNP Convener Ali Ahmed.
Among those present were District BNP Member Secretary Monowar Hossain Khan, Senior Member Secretary Akter Hossain, District Lawyers’ Association President Sayed Hasan Togor, District Jubo Dal President Washiqur Rahman Kallol and leaders and activists of other affiliated organizations.
Earlier, the anniversary programmes began with the hoisting of the national and party flags at the District BNP office in Islampur Para.
In Manikganj, Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) celebrated its 47th founding anniversary through various programmes today.
On this occasion, a colourful rally was brought out from Manikganj Government High School Play Ground (Bijoy Mela Math) with the participation of the leaders and activists of BNP and its front organizations.
The rally carried the banners and placards and paraded the Girl’s High School Road, Shahid Rafiq Sarak and ended in Bus-stand area.
After the rally a discussion was held at the Manikganj Bus-stand.
Afroza Khanam Rita the BNP Chairperson’s Advisory Council Member also the Convenor of Manikganj District BNP, District BNP Convening Committee Member also the Public Prosecutor (PP) AFM Nurtaj Alam Bahar and Golam Sayeed Kibria District Krishak Dal President addressed at the function.
In Chuadanga, the 47th founding anniversary of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) was observed in the district in a befitting manner.
On the occasion, the national and party flags were hoisted on the Chuadanga Sahitya Parishad premises this morning.
Later, at 11 am, a colorful procession was brought out from the Parishad premises and it ended at the same place parading the main streets of the town.
Leaders and activists were seen carrying banners, festoons and huge national and party flags of various colors in the procession.
District BNP President Mahmud Hasan Khan Babu and General Secretary Sharifuzzaman Sharif led the procession.
Leaders and activists of BNP, Jubo Dal, Chhatra Dal, Krishak Dal, Swechchhasebak Dal and other associate organizations from different areas of the district’s four upazilas participated in the founding anniversary programme.
Later, a discussion meeting was held.
District BNP General Secretary Sharifuzzaman Sharif presided over the discussion, with president Mahmud Hasan Khan Babu speaking as the chief guest. Organizing Secretaries Mirza Faridul Islam Shiplu and Shafiqul Islam Pitu moderated the programme.
In Jhenaidah, Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) celebrated its 47th founding anniversary today through various programmes.
On this occasion, a procession started from the town’s Wazir Ali School and College ground at 11 am and after parading important through fare it ended at the Independent Square adjacent to the central Shahid Minar.
Advocate MA Majid, the District BNP President, led the procession. It was addressed by Senior Joint General Secretary Abdul Majid Biswas, Vice President Munshi Kamal Azad Pannu, and District BNP General Secretary Zahiduzzaman Mona.
Among those in attendance were District Jubo Dal President Ahsan Habib Ronak, District BNP Joint Secretary M Shahjahan Ali, Organizing Secretary Sajedur Rahman Poppu, General Secretary Ashraful Islam Pintu, Women’s Dal President Principal Kamrunnahar Liji, and Chhatra Dal President SM Saminuzzaman Samin.
In Rangamati, BNP’s founding anniversary was celebrated in the district through various programmes.
A colorful rally was brought out from Rangamati Municipal Complex at 10.30 am. Party leaders, various small ethnic groups living in the district participated in the rally dressed in their traditional costumes.
After the rally a discussion meeting was held at the same venue.
BNP’s Central Joint Secretary for Religious Affairs Advocate Dipen Dewan was the chief guest at the meeting with District BNP President Dipan Talukder Dipur in the chair.
Moni Swapan Dewan, former Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs and Member of Parliament, former Municipal Mayor and District BNP Vice President Saiful Islam Bhutto, District BNP General Secretary Advocate Mamunur Rashid Mamun, Deputy General Secretary Advocate Saiful Islam Panir, District Jubo Dal Acting President Md. Nurunnabi, District Chhatra Dal President Faruk Ahmed Sabbir and others addressed at the function, among others.
Besides, the 47th founding anniversary of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) was celebrated in Joypurhat, Shariatpur, Naogaon, Bhola, Tangail, Pirojpur, bagerhat, Habiganj, Jhalokathi, Thakurgaon, Panchagarh, Dinajpur, Jashore, Sherpur, Nilphamari and Madaripur.
