The Indonesian Embassy in Dhaka today pledged full cooperation to Bangladeshi entrepreneurs interested in exporting mangoes to Indonesia, citing the renowned taste and flavor of the region’s produce.
Indonesian Ambassador to Bangladesh, Arif Suyoko, provided this assurance during a visit to Chapai Agro Industries, the country’s inaugural fruit-protecting paper bag manufacturer, located in Maharajpur, Sadar upazila, this afternoon.
“We will extend required cooperation if any businessman or trade bodies want to export those to Indonesia as the mangoes of this region are famous for their taste and flavour,” Ambassador Suyoko told journalists during his visit.
Discussions during the visit between Indonesian and Bangladeshi representatives focused on Chapai Agro’s current projects and future plans, with both sides expressing optimism regarding the promising prospects for mango exports to Indonesia.
Following the factory visit, Ambassador Suyoko toured various mango orchards in Shibganj upazila, a region popularly known as Bangladesh’s “mango capital.”
Accompanying Ambassador Suyoko were Robbi Ferly Harkha, Third Secretary of the Indonesian Embassy in Dhaka; Jasmin Akhtar, Chairman and female entrepreneur of Chapai Agro Industries; Md. Shafiqul Islam, Managing Director and industrial entrepreneur; and other officials from the embassy.
