10 Bangladeshi companies participate in Global Sourcing Expo in Sydney

Sydney, Australia – June 17, 2025 – Ten Bangladeshi companies are currently showcasing their products at the three-day ‘Global Sourcing Expo Sydney 2025’, which commenced today at the International Convention Centre in Sydney, Australia. The participation is primarily driven by an initiative of the Bangladesh High Commission in Australia.

With financial backing from the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), eight Bangladeshi garment manufacturers and suppliers are presenting their ready-made garments. Additionally, two other Bangladeshi companies from the apparel sector have joined the exhibition independently.

F. M. Borhan Uddin, Bangladesh’s High Commissioner to Australia, formally inaugurated the Bangladesh Pavilion at the expo. The event also saw the presence of Commercial Counsellor Rony Chakma, Julie Holt, Director of the organizing body, and representatives from the EPB and the Ministry of Commerce.

This year’s expo features approximately 600 manufacturers and suppliers from 12 countries. Similar international trade exhibitions are held twice annually in Sydney and Melbourne, serving as crucial platforms for importers, exporters, producers, and suppliers to exhibit products, explore new markets, and forge business networks within the international trade arena.

Currently, ready-made garments constitute around 93 percent of Bangladesh’s exports to Australia. Bangladesh is presently recognized as Australia’s 23rd largest trading partner.
