Iran calls int’l community to respond against Israeli aggression

Iran has issued a formal call to the international community, including the United Nations and Islamic nations, to swiftly and decisively respond to what it describes as Israeli aggression against its territory.

In a press release disseminated by the Iranian Embassy in Dhaka today, Tehran stated, “We call upon the international community—particularly the United Nations, Islamic countries, and all peace-seeking member states—to swiftly and effectively respond to this act of aggression and the serious threat it poses to international peace and security.”

The statement asserted, “The occupying Zionist regime of Israel has committed a brutal act of aggression on the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran, resulting in the martyrdom of commanders of the country’s armed forces, prominent scientists as well as innocent women and children.” Tehran expressed deep sorrow over these alleged “heinous acts.”

According to the release, Iran views this aggression as a clear violation of Articles 2 and 4 of the United Nations Charter, characterizing it as a blatant example of direct military aggression against Iran’s national sovereignty. In this context, the statement affirmed, “Under Article 51 of the UN Charter, the Islamic Republic of Iran reserves the legitimate right to respond and defend itself accordingly.”

The press release concluded by placing “full responsibility for the consequences of this aggression squarely with the Zionist occupying regime.”
