The National Consensus Commission is set to commence its second round of dialogue with political parties today, Monday, June 2, 2025.
The crucial discussions will begin at 4:30 PM at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital. Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus will inaugurate the dialogue, as confirmed by his Deputy Press Secretary, Abul Kalam Azad Majumder, during a press briefing at the Foreign Service Academy on Sunday.
According to Azad Majumder, all political parties and stakeholders engaged in the reform process have been invited to participate in this round of discussions. It is anticipated that the “July Charter” could be finalized through this dialogue.
The National Consensus Commission was established to review and finalize recommendations put forth by five key reform commissions. These commissions focused on critical areas including the constitution, judiciary, electoral system, public administration, and the Anti-Corruption Commission. The first round of talks, which took place between February 15 and May 19, involved meetings with 33 political parties.
