Private airline Air Astra is poised to reinstate its flight services on the Dhaka-Sylhet route beginning May 29, aiming to enhance travel accessibility for passengers in anticipation of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha festivities.
The airline will operate two daily round-trip flights between Dhaka and Sylhet. Departures from Dhaka are scheduled for 7:30 AM and 7:30 PM, with return flights from Sylhet departing at 8:50 AM and 8:50 PM, as confirmed by an airline statement released on Wednesday.
“Sylhet is a key destination for Air Astra. Due to a temporary shortage of aircraft, we had to suspend operations on this route. With our fleet now stable, the flights will resume on a regular basis,” stated Imran Asif, CEO of Air Astra.
Air Astra commenced its domestic operations on November 24, 2022. Currently, the airline maintains a robust schedule, including four daily flights on the Dhaka-Cox’s Bazar-Dhaka route, five daily flights on the Dhaka-Chattogram-Dhaka route, and three daily flights on the Dhaka-Saidpur-Dhaka route.
The airline’s fleet comprises four ATR 72-600 aircraft, a French-built turboprop recognized for its safety and operational efficiency in regional air travel.
