Expatriates send $1.96b in remittances in first 21 days of April

With almost $1.96 billion sent by expatriates in the first 21 days of April, the robust remittance inflow has maintained its dominant trend.

This comes after receiving a record $3.29 billion in March.

According to the most recent data from Bangladesh Bank, in the 21 days of April, Bangladeshi expats sent approximately $1.96 billion in inbound remittances. The first 21 days of April 2024 saw a $1.39 billion inflow of remittances.

In April last year, the expatriates sent $2.04 billion in remittances, while in the 21 days of April this year, they sent $1.96 billion in remittances.

As a result, on April 21, 2025, remittances totaling $85 million were sent to Bangladesh in a single day.

Additionally, according to central bank data, inward remittances increased by 28.6% between July 2024 and April 21, 2025, totaling $23.75 billion, or $18.47 billion, compared to July 2023 to April 21, 2024.
