Education adviser requests KUET students to withdraw strike

Education Adviser Dr CR Abrar has requested the protesting students of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) to withdraw their hunger strike.

The adviser made the call during a phone conversation with protesting students of KUET today.

Expressing concern over the health of the students, Dr Abrar, in the phone conversation, told that the students might fall ill in the hot weather and requested them to withdraw the hunger strike considering physical condition.

He informed the students that the government is aware of the students’ demands. A high-level delegation will go to Khulna very soon, he added.

The KUET authorities will discuss the situation with the teachers and students and take steps to resolve the problem.

A group of students of the university have been on a hunger strike since Monday afternoon, demanding the resignation of vice-chancellor.
