Govt. to recruit 2,000 doctors through special BCS exams

This year, 2,000 new doctors will be hired by the interim government through special Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) exams.

At a signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Railways Ministry, Health and Family Welfare Adviser Nurjahan Begum presented the idea to offer medical care to the general public at railway hospitals in conjunction with railway employees.

“There are acute crisis of doctors in our country. To combat the crisis we are expecting to recruit 2,000 fresh doctors through special BCS examinations before October this year,” she said.

Railways Adviser Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan said only railway staffs get access to the medical care at the hospitals currently. From now on, general public too will be able to avail the medical facilities.

He, however, mentioned it will take some time to the effect of the MoU.
