Pahela Baishakh celebrated in Uzbekistan

Yesterday, the Bangladesh High Commission in Uzbekistan celebrated Pahela Baishakh, the first day of the Bengali New Year 1432, with a lively program held on the embassy grounds.

Another seminar organized by the Bangladeshi mission was called “Bangladesh-Uzbekistan Ties: Possibilities and Opportunities in Tourism Sector.”

According to a statement released today, the session was attended by diplomats and ambassadors from several nations to Uzbekistan, representatives of well-known travel organizations, university instructors and students, and Bangladeshi expatriates living in the nation.

High Commissioner Dr Mohammad Monirul Islam exchanged new year greetings with the attendees.

Speaking at the seminar, he highlighted long-standing ties between the countries in developing the tourism sector.
 
Tourism not only strengthens the existing friendship between the countries but also contributes to expanding trade, education and culture, he said.
