The Ekushey Padak 2025 in sports will be given to the Bangladesh women’s national football team in recognition of their exceptional performance from the previous season.
Under the direction of goal-machine Sabina Khatun, the women’s team won the prestigious SAFF Women’s Championship in Kathmandu, Nepal, in 2022 and 2024.
Fourteen other notable individuals will also get the coveted prize for their efforts in their respective disciplines, in addition to the women’s football team.
Cultural Affairs Ministry announced the names of the recipients at a press conference on Thursday.
Ekushey Padak is the second highest civilian award introduced in memory of the martyrs of the Bengali Language Movement of 1952. The award is given to recognize contributions in a number of fields, including culture, social service, education and economics.
