160,000 people attend Berlin rally against far right: police

Three weeks before a crucial legislative election, over 160,000 people flocked to downtown Berlin’s streets on Sunday to demonstrate against the far right, a police spokesperson told AFP.

Decades-old conventions were broken when Germany’s conservatives asked the far-right party for parliamentary backing, prompting the protest. The organizers estimate that 200,000 people will attend.
