Inward remittances reach $2.19b in January 

According to the most recent data from Bangladesh Bank, inward remittances sent home by Bangladeshis living abroad increased 13.4% year over year to $2.19 billion in January.

In January 2024, there was a $2.11 billion remittance inflow.

Of total, $627.17 million came from remittances made through state-owned and specialty banks, and $1.55 billion went to private banks.

In fiscal year 2024–2025, worker-remittance inflows totaled around $15.96 billion between July and January.

For six months in a row, the nation has received remittances totaling over $2 billion.
