Due to his involvement in the IDF’s “failure” during the October 7, 2023, attack by the Palestinian militant group Hamas, Major General Herzi Halevi, the chief of Israel’s military, resigned on Monday.
Halevi resigned during a time of “significant successes” for the military, citing his departure “due to my acknowledgement of responsibility for the (military’s) failure on October 7” in his letter of resignation, which the army made public.
