Today, Amader Shomoy’s Diplomatic Correspondent Md. Arifuzzaman Mamun and UNB’s Special Correspondent AKM Moinuddin were elected as the 2025 General Secretary and President of the Diplomatic Correspondents Association, Bangladesh (DCAB), respectively.
According to a press statement issued here, Ashiqur Rahman Apu, the chief correspondent for ATN News, was elected vice president.
Deepto TV’s Rubaet Hasan, Channel 24’s Morshed Hassib Hasan, and Dainik Jababdihi’s Atiqur Rahman were chosen without opposition as joint secretary, treasurer, and office secretary, respectively.
Md Tanzim Anwar of BSS, Rased Mehedi of Views Bangladesh, Mizanur Rahman of Daily Manabzamin, Khurram Zaman of Amader Natun Somoy and Md Bashir Ahmed of Daily Amar Desh have been elected executive members unopposed.
The election was place in the capital’s Bishwasahittya Kendra after the DCAB’s Annual General Meeting (AGM).
The AGM was chaired by outgoing President Nurul Islam Hasib, and reports were given by outgoing General Secretary Ashiqur Rahman Apu and Treasurer Atiqur Rahman.
Following the vote count, in front of Election Commissioner Nizam Ahmed, Chief Election Commissioner Shafiqul Karim declared the election’s outcome.
