Train operation on Benapole-Dhaka route via Padma Bridge begins

Train service on Benapole-Dhaka route via Padma Bridge began as 768-seat capacity ‘Ruposhi Bangla Express’ made its maiden journey from Benapole to Dhaka today.

The train left Benapole Railway Station for Dhaka at 3:00 pm with 927 passengers in 12 coaches and it reached Kamalapur Station in the capital at 7:10 pm. 

Jashore Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Azharul Islam officially inaugurated the passenger train from Benapole Railway Station.
 
Benapole Railway Station Master Md. Saiduzzaman said Ruposhi Bangla Express will remain closed on Mondays out of 7 days a week. 

Currently, it takes 7 hours and 35 minutes to travel from Dhaka to Benapole via Tangail-Ishwardi. From there, it will take only 3 hours and 40 minutes to travel from Dhaka to Benapole via Padma Bridge, he said.

The station master said from now, a pair of Ruposhi Bangla Express trains will operate on Dhaka-Benapole-Dhaka route as a train will leave Dhaka at 11:45 am and reach Benapole at 2:25 pm and it will leave Benapole at 3:30 pm and reach Dhaka at 7:10 pm.

The train will have stoppages at Jashore Junction, Narail, Kashiani Junction and Bhanga Junction.
