UN Human Rights delegation meets IGP

Today, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Baharul Alam received a courtesy call at police headquarters from a delegation of the UN Human Rights High Commission.

The two-member delegation was led by Francesca Marotta, a senior officer of the commission.

According to a news release, they talked about the ongoing reform in the police force during the discussion.

The delegation promised the IGP full cooperation in the fight for police reform.

To help citizens file complaints, the IGP prioritised the establishment of a police complaint cell and an independent police commission.


Baharul extended thanks to the UN Human Rights High Commission for providing support to Bangladesh in different areas including training programmes.
