Disney announces ‘Prince Charming’ film with Paul King at the helm

Disney has enlisted renowned director Paul King to provide a fresh cinematic interpretation of the well-loved Prince Charming figure.

Following his success with the ‘Paddington’ films and the upcoming ‘Wonka’, King will helm this fresh interpretation of the iconic figure, as per Deadline.

As per Deadline, sources close to the production have confirmed that King will direct the film, with Simon Farnaby and Jon Croker joining him as co-writers.

Insiders say that although the exact narrative is yet unknown, the movie will not be directly related to the story of “Cinderella,” which is where Prince Charming initially got his start.

Rather, the character is well-known for being the love interest of several Disney princesses, which makes him a mainstay in animated masterpieces like “Snow White” and “Sleeping Beauty.”

As a master of family-friendly cinema, Paul King has made a name for himself with the ‘Paddington’ franchise, which has won over hearts with its endearing tales.

According to Deadline, the director’s most recent film, “Wonka,” starring Timothee Chalamet, made over USD 634 million in total revenue globally. Farnaby, who works with King a lot, has done contributions for both Wonka and the Paddington movie.
