High commissioner of India and Bangladesh’s foreign secretary discuss key bilateral issues

Today, in a significant diplomatic engagement at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bangladesh’s Foreign Secretary Md. Jashim Uddin and India’s High Commissioner Pranay Verma held extensive discussions on key bilateral matters.

Among the topics addressed were the status of the return of the Indian workforce to Bangladesh post their involvement in various LOC projects, the renewal of Indian visa operations, and early consular access for Indian fishermen recently detained in Bangladesh.

Additionally, the meeting highlighted the importance of repatriating Bangladeshi fishermen detained by Indian authorities in mid-September and emphasized the need for the regular convening of bilateral mechanisms such as the Foreign Office Consultations (FOC).

The dialogue underscored the commitment of both nations to strengthening their diplomatic relations and resolving pertinent issues for the betterment of their bilateral ties.
