Mirpur-10 metro station to reopen tomorrow

The Mirpur-10 metro train station, which was damaged and shut down during the anti-discrimination student protest in July, will reopen tomorrow, or around 88 days later.

“Mirpur-10 station will resume operation from tomorrow as the station’s test operation was completed successfully,” Dhaka Metro Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) Managing Director Abdur Rouf announced today.

He claimed that on July 19, when the anti-discrimination student movement imposed the “Complete Shutdown” program, miscreants vandalised the Mirpur-10 and Kazipara stations.

According to him, the authorities were compelled to keep the two stations closed because the vandals destroyed everything, including the ticket vending machine and the passenger admission punch machine at the main station.

According to the managing director, repairs were completed on September 20 and Kazipara station was back in service.
