India and Bangladesh have stressed that, in order to improve bilateral relations and for the wellbeing of their respective populations, the two neighbors must cooperate.
According to a news release from the foreign ministry, this was noted today while Indian High Commissioner Pranay Verma paid a courtesy call on Foreign Affairs Advisor Md. Touhid Hossain at the foreign ministry in the capital.
The two parties addressed a variety of bilateral matters during the discussion, with a focus on the Indian High Commission’s decision to resume normal visa processing.
Both the foreign adviser and the Indian envoy underscored the importance of activating the regular bilateral mechanisms between the two countries.
Touhid referred to his the meeting with Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar on the sidelines of the 79th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York in this regards.
They also explored opportunities for enhanced cooperation in trade, ongoing development projects, and fostering stronger people-to-people connections between Bangladesh and India.
