Kamala Harris wants people in America to know that she carries a pistol.
During a forum organized by media personality Oprah Winfrey last week, the Democratic presidential candidate declared, “I own a gun.”
She laughed and replied, “If someone breaks into my house, they’re getting shot.”
Although Harris has previously acknowledged possessing a gun, she has largely kept quiet about it in keeping with her party’s emphasis on restricting access to firearms in a nation that has become numb to armed crime and major massacres.
The former longtime prosecutor also remains mum on exactly what kind of weapon she owns.
So her boldly pro-gun stance just a month and a half from the November 5 election surprised many — including Winfrey.
“I probably shouldn’t have said that,” laughed Harris after her vow to shoot intruders at her California home.
Experts, however, say that the sitting vice president’s revelation was no accident.
