3 committees formed to scrutinize JS Bhaban’s damage

According to a press release from the Parliament Secretariat issued here today, three committees were established to examine damages to the Parliament House, Parliament Member House, old MP Hostel, Minister Hostel, Secretary Hostel, and residential sections of Sangsad Bhaban.

The judgment was made public during a recent meeting chaired by Zebunnesa Karim, the acting secretary (additional secretary, committee support wing) of the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban.

The heads of various departments and related officials of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban participated at the meeting held on September 4 to get a briefing on the overall situation of their respective departments, the release added.

The meeting was informed that after the August 5 vandalism and looting at Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban, almost Taka 90 lakh in funds, both official and personal, disappeared. It was decided to take the proper measures to return the money.

Another decision was made to compile a list of misplaced and damaged items from the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban’s branches, offices, and sub-sections and give it to the department heads.

At the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban, it was resolved to take immediate action to repair the damaged computers, printers, scanners, internet connections, phone exchanges, lines, and sets.
