A conference center and teacher’s lounge, as well as a fully landscaped garden area, were recently launched by Standard Chartered Bank, Bangladesh and the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) of the University of Dhaka.
According to a press release issued here today, the Bank is committed to developing the next generation of business leaders, fostering academic excellence in Bangladesh, and supporting faculty and professional development. These new campus resources are a contribution from Standard Chartered to the educational institution.
The Conference Center and Teacher’s Lounge are available for use by the Institute of Business Administration, which has a long history of turning out some of the best business minds in the nation. This will improve both the faculty and student academic experiences.
Along with being a place for interaction and enjoyment of the greenery, the garden area will also be used by teachers, students, and visitors. It is easier and more effective for students, instructors, and visitors to network, share experiences, and learn from one another when a variety of venues are created throughout higher education campuses.
The Bank’s support will also enable IBA to continue its tradition of producing a constant flow of skilled instructors who are disseminating their knowledge throughout Bangladesh and the rest of the world.
“Collaboration between the corporate sector and academic institutions is essential for business education to fulfill the needs of the business world,” stated Naser Ezaz Bijoy, CEO of Standard Chartered Bangladesh. We are thrilled to collaborate with IBA, a renowned hub for business education that has produced a great deal of professionals who have led both domestic and international corporations over the past 60 years in addition to providing the country with outstanding academics, policymakers, bureaucrats, diplomats, and governors.
He continued by saying that this project will support the expansion of on-campus amenities and resources for instructors and students.
“By investing in a new Conference Centre and Teacher’s Lounge, we are investing in the future of Bangladesh’s business community. We are confident that these upgrades will enable IBA to continue to produce exceptional graduates and academicians who will spur on the nation’s sustained growth and development,” he said.
Professor Mohammad A. Momen, Director of the IBA, Dhaka University, said, “The world that our future business leaders are about to inherit will be radically different from anything we have seen in the past. To harness novel technologies, navigate complicated social dynamics and preserve our environment in that world, I feel nothing is more important than multidisciplinary thinking. I am thrilled to launch the new Conference Centre and Teachers’ Lounge here at IBA in collaboration with Standard Chartered. The facilities will help deepen our current aspirations for interdisciplinary discourse outside of the formal curricula. I sincerely thank the Standard Chartered for coming forward and helping us in evolving the next stage of business education in Bangladesh.”
