Another factory in Bangladesh gets LEED certification

The United States Green Building Council (USGBC) has granted LEED certification to another factory located in Bangladesh.

As a result, there are now 207 green factories throughout the nation. Based on a score of 87, the Shah Fatehullah Textile Mills Ltd facility in Narayanganj was awarded a platinum grade by the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA).

The USGBC takes into account a number of factors, including waste management, energy, water, and transformation performance, before awarding a LEED certification.

Platinum is awarded to the top performers, with gold and silver following.

Bangladesh is the global leader with the highest number of green industries, where 77 are platinum-rated, 116 are gold-rated, ten are silver and four are without any rating.

The country has been receiving the certificate since 2001.
