In an attempt to save hassles at the last minute, the government has once more extended the deadline for 2024 hajj registration to February 6.
On Friday, the Religious Affairs Ministry sent a notification about this.
The notification said that individuals wishing to attend the Hajj must deposit Tk 2.05 lakh for primary registration and the remaining amount by February 29, 2024 for final registration.
Depending to the sighting of the moon, Hajj-2024 will take place on June 16, the ninth day of Zilhaj.
The same as this year, a total of 127,198 devotees are eligible to conduct the hajj in 2019; 10,198 of them may do so under government supervision, and the remaining participants under private supervision.
The Hajj packages for 2024 were unveiled by the government on November 2 and will cost Tk 92,450 less.
The ordinary package costs Tk 5,78,840, and the special package costs Tk 9,36,320 for intending pilgrims.
On November 15, the registration process for the Hajj opened.
