Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun today said that cash reward ranging from Taka 20,000- Taka 100,000 will be given to people for providing specific information about saboteurs on the 12th national election.
Bangladesh police will give cash reward to people for providing specific anarchy information — about saboteurs on the national election — which will be kept confidential, according to the Police Headquarters information.
Earlier, the IGP told that police received intelligence report on the plotting of saboteurs at a media briefing on election security at the Willes Little Flower School and College in the city.
“They had plans of charging some cocktails to create panic among people. But they would not be able to do anything as we have enough forces ready with training and logistic support to deal any critical situation. I would like to assure the people that highest security system has been adopted centering the national election,” he said.
The inspector general of police urged people to take help of nearby police stations or call national emergency helpline number 999 in case of any emergency.
Mamun said many top militant leaders have already been arrested.
“We are constantly getting information about saboteurs through various sources of the law enforcement agencies. I will take stern action against them whatever they plan,” he added.
