Tomorrow marks the nationwide release of the eagerly anticipated biopic “Mujib: The Making of a Nation,” which is based on the life and works of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the Father of the Nation.
At the city’s Bangladesh Film Archive, Agargaon, the premier screening of the movie was opened by the prime minister Sheikh Hasina today.
Dr. Hasan Mahmud, minister of information and broadcasting, as well as the cast and crew of the film welcomed the prime minister when she arrived at the location.
The movie, a collaboration between the governments of Bangladesh and India, will be shown in roughly 200 movie theaters.
Earlier, on September 14, the Canadian information minister opened the biopic’s opening night at the 48th Toronto International Film Festival.
Additionally, Dr. Hasan, Anurag Singh Thakur from India, and Shyam Benegal, the film’s director, debuted the teaser on May 19, 2022, at the 75th Cannes Film Festival in France.
On July 31st, the movie received an uncensored certificate in Bangladesh.
Dhallywood’s popular actor Arifin Shuvoo acted as the title character of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in this film, while Nusrat Imrose Tisha played the role of Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib, the lifelong better half of the Father of the Nation.
Actress Nusrat Faria portrayed Bangabandhu’s elder daughter and incumbent Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The biopic also features popular actor Chanchal Chowdhury, Prarthana Dighi, Tauquir Ahmed, Riaz Ahmed, Dilara Zaman, Jayed Khan, Khairul Alam Sabuj, Ferdous Ahmed, Raisul Islam Asad, Gazi Rakayet and Misha Sowdagor and others in different characters.
In Mumbai, India, on January 22, 2021, filming for the movie began and was completed till December 18, in Bangladesh.
The movie’s first and second posters were released in 2022, on March 17 for the first and May 3 for the second.
The movie’s script was written by Atul Tiwari and Shama Jayedi, and Doyal Nihalani served as the assistant director.
On October 27, the movie will also be distributed throughout all of India.
