With 17 additional fatalities reported in the last 24 hours up until Sunday morning, the total number of dengue infection-related deaths this year has increased to 1006.
Additionally, according to data issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), 2,882 new dengue cases were hospitalized during the same period.
Of the new cases, 629 were reported in Dhaka city and 2,253 were from various parts of the country.
There are currently 9,357 dengue patients being treated nationwide, 3,120 of them are in the nation’s capital.
The DGHS has so far this year reported 206,288 dengue cases and 195,925 recoveries.
According to DGHS data, September has so far been the bloodiest month of the dengue outbreak this year, with 396 fatalities and 79,598 cases.
