Cricket fans in Sylhet will once again be able to enjoy Test matches on their own field after a half-decade-long absence. After the World Cup, which will be held in India later this year, Bangladesh will play New Zealand.
The first Test of the two-match series will begin on November 28 at Sylhet, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) said on Monday.
In the forthcoming series, the second Test will take place in Dhaka.
The Tigers played Zimbabwe in the only Test match played at Sylhet to date, which ended with a loss for the Tigers.
The Bangladesh team is currently putting all of its effort into getting ready for the three-match ODI series against the same opponent, which gets underway on September 21 in Dhaka. The following two games will take place on September 23 and 26, respectively, at the same location.
The New Zealand cricket team arrived in Dhaka earlier this week and held their first practice in Mirpur on Monday.
The Bangladeshi team is expected to arrive at the team hotel on Tuesday and start making final preparations for the ODI series on Wednesday.
