Mild heat wave sweeping over country

A mild heat wave is currently affecting much of the country’s center, north, and northeast; in some locations, it may even end.

“Mild heat wave is sweeping over the districts of Dhaka, Tangail, Rajshahi, Sirajgonj, Rangpur, Sayedpur, Panchagarh, Kurigram, Moulvibazar, Jashore and Chuadanga and it may abate from some places”, said a Met office release for t he next 24 hours begins from 9am today.

Numerous locations over the divisions of Dhaka, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet are likely to experience light to moderate rain or thundershowers, along with brief gusts of wind; fewer locations over the divisions of Mymensingh and Khulna; and one or two locations over the divisions of Rangpur and Rajshahi are also likely to experience light to moderate rain or thundershowers, along with moderate to heavy falls.

Sayedpur had the country’s highest temperature today of 37.5 degrees Celsius, while Kutudia recorded the lowest temperature of 25.2 degrees Celsius. Rainfall totaled 47 millimeters (mm) over the previous twenty-four hours as of this morning at six o’clock.

In the capital, the sun rises at 05:46 tomorrow and sets at 06:01 today.
